Missions is one of the most important ministries at Tabernacle Baptist Church and has been from the very birth of the church. Right from the beginning, we have desired God's blessings. We both believe and teach the Biblical principle that in order to receive you must first learn to give and give cheerfully according to II Corinthians 9:7.
The Holy Spirit of God had a good reason for inspiring Luke to record Acts 1:8. It is a direct command from God and we both believe it and promote it. He has given us the responsibility to reach not only to the surrounding communities in the Tidewater area but also to the uttermost part of the earth.
To fulfill this command, our people are presently giving over $100,000 per year. This money is used, on a regular basis, to support over 100 missionaries spread over six of the seven continents. The cheerful giving of our people has grown year by year.
